Health settings pose a special challenge for patients and providers. Consultation and training can focus on helping providers integrate trauma-informed, patient-centered care with the realities of time-pressured, high stakes environments. Dr. Raja has worked with the Office on Women's Health (US Department of Health and Human Services) and Aquifer to develop online clinical cases to educate healthcare providers nationwide on trauma informed, patient-centered healthcare. She has also collaborated with the Surgeon General of California to create training cases for the ACES Aware Initiative that trains providers statewide. Dr. Raja’s focus includes a framework to educate providers about universal trauma precautions as well as implement trauma informed strategies on an organizational level.
